Thanks, Jessica Alba

I'm 11 dpiui, and save a sprinkling of blemishes, I'm feeling the same as last time as I've posted. The beta looms . . .

It's been a crazy week. This article, http://www.cnn.com/2010/SHOWBIZ/04/05/jessica.alba.adoption.ppl/index.html, a headline on cnn, irked me. Says Alba, "If you have the love, and the capacity to love children, you should just adopt. And I plan on doing it." Now, I'm all about adoption. I think it's wonderful. It's just that Alba is so flip about the whole thing. No mention of the potential years of waiting, last-minute disappointments, complicated relationships with birth parents. Also, Alba has a 2-year-old: Would she have made the choice to adopt in lieu of having her daughter?

A friend actually emailed me this week asking if I'd considered adoption and sent me the link to some adoption website. This friend had a baby in October and wrote about how she hopes to adopt a child. I know she meant well, but it's like--not the same situation, sista!

Anyway, enough musing for today. For the four people who I believe read this blog, thanks. I can't guarantee I'll post right after the beta; I can't even guarantee that I'll have it in me to keep this blog going. That's not to say that all isn't well in my life besides this little hiccup.
